  2. Physical characteristics • Wolverines can be up to 44 inches. • These fast animals can weigh up to 55 pounds! • They can be dark brown, light face mask, and have a stripe on both sides of its body.

  3. Lifespan • Wolverines can live for 12 years.

  4. Eating habits / diet • Wolverines are carnivores. They L-O-V-E meat! • They eat caribou, moose, ground squirrels, and snowshoe hares.

  5. population • In 48 states there are less then 500 left! • In the U.S. there are only around 32.

  6. Habitat / range • Wolverines live in trees that are in high elevations. • They live from Maine to Washington. • They live in the Rocky Mountains and the Sierra Cascade Mountains.

  7. adaptations • The wolverine uses eyes so they can see in the dark. • The wolverine uses its teeth so it can rip its food. • The wolverine uses its claws to scratch its prey.

  8. Endangered because • Climate changes cause melting snow so wolverines can’t build dens.

  9. Fun facts • The kit’s fur is white when it is a child. • Their fur is thik ,oily ,and hydrophobic.
