  12. Budget FAQs -1 • How do I find out the DP subscription and exam fees? • These are published annually in the Handbook of Procedures. • What are the set-up costs for the DP? • See above.

  13. Budget FAQs - 2 • Is the DP expensive? • The package nature of the DP means that there are no short cuts. A school has to provide subjects in all subject groups, appropriate staffing such as the DPC, and a minimum level of facilities and resources. Of course, this is not in itself a bad thing.

  14. Budget FAQs - 3 • Are there any hidden costs? • Not exactly, but one can be taken by surprise by: • CAS costs • Postage / courier costs for Internal Assessment and Exam Papers. • Enquiries on results – asking for re-marks and other information after the exams. • Staff recruitment and training, especially if one wants experienced teachers from a variety of nationalities.

  15. Budget FAQs - 4 • What is the largest cost heading in running a Diploma Programme? • Teaching costs (as ever). • What are ‘break-even’ numbers of students on a Diploma Programme? • This can vary hugely, but schools start to feel more comfortable when they have 30 – 40 students.

  16. Budget FAQs - 5 • Is it worth it? • Of course!! • Schools who sign up for the IB’s courses know that they are getting high quality educational programmes that are well thought out, rigorous, and excellent training for future study, and have a mission. They will challenge and enthuse your students, and enhance the reputation of your school.

  17. End • I will email you all my personal invoice for this advice. • = £45,000 • Do not forget to add it to your budget. • Thank you
