VOCABULARY • Normalcy: It means a return to the economical and political isolation that characterizes the United States before it entered World War I in 1917. • Tea pot dome scandal: Is a reference to an oil field on public land in the U.S state of Wyoming, the name comes because of a massive boulder that looks like a teapot overlooking the field.

  3. TIMELINE • 1865: He was born 1923: He died in office. • 1921: elected president of the United States • 1923: He visited Alaska was first president to do that.

  4. MAIN IDEA • Warren Harding was elected president on 1921 of the United States • Hewas ranked one of the worst presidents of all time. • His administration is chiefly remembered for the teapot dome scandal it was a messy oil reserves.

  5. After world war I, problems surfaced relating to arms control, war, debts, and the reconstruction of war-ton countries. On domestic issues, Harding favored a limited role for government in business affairs and in social reform. He still set up the bureau of the budget to help run the government more efficiently. The biggest example of corruption was the teapot dome scandal. When Harding died, Americans sincerely mourned their good-natured president. The next year, Calvin Coolidge was elected president.
