  2. Frida Kahlo 1907 – 1954 • Frida Kahlo is a Mexican artist. • She was married to Diego Rivera • She had polio in her early years and was severely injured in a trolley accident in her teens. • She painted many self-portraits while recovering.

  3. Diego Rivera 1886-1957 • Diego Rivera used simplified forms and vivid colors • He “rescued Mexico’s precolombine past, as well as the most important moments of Mexico’s history.” • Many paintings and murals depict farm workers and the common man. • Diego Rivera is famous for his murals.

  4. Pablo Picasso 1881-1973 • Picasso had a blue period (1901-1904) where most of his paintings were dark and blue. • Picasso had a rose period (1905) when the colors became lighter. • Picasso is famous for cubism • He was a rebel and a Spanish painter.
