  1. Inmate Texting Apps are a lifeline for those behind bars. They aid in maintaining relationships with their families and friends. This new method of communication is less expensive and faster than writing letters or making phone calls. Inmates also feel more connected to the world outside. This can help with rehabilitation or a successful reentry. While prisons and jails don't allow inmate text service prisoners to use their personal phones while they are incarcerated Some have secure messaging services that inmates can access via designated kiosks inside the facility. These messages are sent via an encrypted network that is monitored by the staff. Depending on the institution, an inmate may be eligible to purchase credits for sending and receiving replies from their approved contact. These services are similar to email and allow pen family members and friends to communicate with prisoners across the nation. The system is easy to use and much less expensive than traditional mail. Inmates can receive unlimited electronic responses from their loved ones and family. There is no need to purchase stamps, paper or envelopes. Inmates can save money on telephone bills and trips to the money order shop and photo print shops. Although texting with inmates can seem like an efficient and simple method to stay in touch, it can also be risky for those who receive the messages. Inmates are more likely to use these messaging platforms to manipulate their contacts and lure them into illicit activities. These conversations could be inspected by correctional facilities, which could lead to arrest or denial of privileges. Prisoners still prefer to text rather than call. It is crucial to stay clear of these texts and instead concentrate on other ways of communicating that include a phone call or written letter.
