  3. Why are we here, doing this work?

  4. New stuff Social media marking, customer service Entrepreneurial class, Hollister: Saturday Spanish, Gilroy Friday evening English. Another class with child care at First V Hollister. Counselors at MH, Gilroy, and San Benito Adult Ed. Four new classes at SBC transition center.

  5. Resource Sharing Counselors, peer advisors, and assessment specialist will share info. Looking for another peer advisor for MH and maybe another for both Gilroy and Hollister. Spring BBQ for students making the transition.

  6. Attendance and Student Retention Process for identifying students who do not show up on the roster: • If the student turned in app. and are not on the roster within 2 weeks, send Jessica Gonzalez (jgonzalez@gavilan.edu ) an email or call (408-852-2858) with the students’ phone # and date of birth. She is our fixer. • Remember all applications are sent to Noncredit first • Check applications, need, name, Bdate, CRN, and signature, especially jail. • If students stop coming, let us know and we will follow up. • Suggestions, now or write down?

  7. Attendance sheet review

  8. Accountability • Please complete course progress indicators at the end of semester (No Pass, Satisfactory Progress, and Pass) for all students. • Go over how to check grades at higher levels classes. • Suggestions?

  9. Roster cleanup In early March, review your roster and if a student is enrolled and has never attended, print out a roster and note which students have not attended and last attendance date (NRS if never attended) and sign and date.

Professional Development • Please complete flex forms with hours that improve your instruction. • Please visit each others classrooms • We will be doing an lesson sharing event again this semester. • We will have a 3 day summer training symposium again. • If you would like to attend a conference, let me know and we can fund you. • Suggestions?

  14. Other issues • BTW new timesheets: need original on time. Due by the 18thof each month. • If you are going to miss a class, try and find a sub. if not notify our office. • New instructors can have a set of new books. • Please write down any additional supplies and equipment you may need.

  15. Attendance and Student Retention • If enrollment is low (<10), please notify Victor or Ana and we will target our marketing for your site. You can provide suggestions on how to increase enrollment. • Also, you need to talk with students and people at the site to increase enrollment. • Suggestions?

  16. Mid term meeting We are having another division meeting. We will pay for this one. March 23rd 3-5.
