Turbocharger failure in vehicle test • History - Turbocharger failure in LM T-CAR#04(2.0L, AT) vehicle brake test - Turbocharger failure was happened after the module replacement. - The module number failed is 7338-014. - No issue was found to origin module though the mileage was short. - Oil pressure checking results in HMC after the turbo failure The oil didn’t flow to the turbocharger.
Turbocharger failure in vehicle test • Root cause - There was a block in the inlet hole from the engine at the parting line. - The burr of 1mm thickness was occurred at the parting line because of the upper mold was not match with the lower mold. - This burr blocked the oil flow into the module from the engine, result in the oil couldn’t flow to the turbo. Parting line Clean part with no burr Closed part with burr
