Goals When you complete this course you should be able to: • Describe the Web Services framework used by OpenEdge • Generate 4GL WSDL documentation and use it as aid in for developing your 4GL code • Write 4GL code which accesses a variety of Web services exchanging simple data • Write 4GL code which accesses a variety of Web services exchanging complex data • Use the SOAP Viewer for examining SOAP messages • Write 4GL code which handles SOAP Faults • Write 4GL code which handles SOAP Headers
Course environment • Software requirements • OpenEdge 10 • OpenEdge Studio required • Windows platform • Web browser • All lab files should be installed in: <drive>:\OpenEdge\WRK • You will do your lab work in this directory • Web services to be used for this course are running on: • Host machine of instructor (classroom setting only) • Progress Web site (classroom or non-classroom setting)
