Parts of Keyboard Keyboard consists of five parts: Alphabetical keys Numeric keys Special purpose keys Arrow keys Function keys
Alphabetical Keys Alphabetic keys include letters from A-Z and punctuation marks such as ? , “ ‘ etc. The normal layout of the keyboard is QWERTY as the letters of the first row of the keyboard is QWERTY.
Numeric Keys Numeric keys include numbers from 0 - 9 Special Purpose Keys These are the following special purpose keys: Enter key Del & insert key Caps lock key Modifiers ------ alt, ctrl, shift etc
Arrow Keys Cursor movement keys controls the movement of cursor on the screen such as right, left, top, bottom.
Function Keys A function key is a key on a keyboard which can be programmed so as to cause an operating system command interpreter or application program to perform certain actions. Function keys are numbered from F1 – F12. In many application programs F1 key is used to display help contents.
