  2. What type of characters are in your film and are they typical or untypical of the genre? The second character in the film is also a British male. He is 23 and is underclass as he is homeless. Due to be being homeless he has turned to alcohol and drugs as he thinks these are the only thing keeping him happy in life. This is the typical antagonist of a thriller as one f the characters often has a troubled background and causes the dilemma in the film. The first character in our film is a upper class, British, male aged 25. He is a lawyer, which connotes he’s very smart, and he is very wealthy. I think he is a typical protagonist in a thriller is he is just an ordinary person who unknowingly gets drawn into danger.

  3. REPRESENTATION Actor one is represented as a lawyer who is very smart, organised and keeps himself to himself therefore lives alone with no wife/girlfriend or children. He is a very kind man and lots of people respect him. He symbolises the typical wealthy, British male. Actor two is represented as the typical homeless person. He wears scruffy clothes e.g. Fingerless gloves, big coat and is an alcoholic, as shown in the OTS he is drinking beer. He is represented as quite aggressive as he has snuck into the house with the other character being unaware. He symbolises the typical homeless person

  4. The expensive car on the driveway of the characters house connotes he is wealthy. Furthermore he is wearing a suit which represents he has a high class job. MISE-EN-SCENE Character 2 is shown drinking a bottle of beer which connotes he is an alcoholic. He is wearing scruffy clothing, fingerless gloves and a big coat which shows he’s homeless. The stunned face along with the heavy breathing connotes this character is scared and shocked that someone is in his house. This shows he didn’t expect anyone to be there which shows he lives alone. The house is very tidy, not clutter or mess anywhere with connotes he is a tidy, neat person. Also shows he has no children as there are no toys around.

  5. Do your characters reflect those you have studied in other films? When we thought of wealthy, high up in profession man it made us think of ‘Vincent’ from collateral. We used the idea of dressing him in a suit from this character. Also the typical protagonist in thriller films are normally male, for example James bond. Our second characters reflects many antagonists in other thriller film. The antagonists have usually had a bad background, for example the death of Norman Bates mum lead him to being an antagonist in Physco.
