Extra Credit • Review the following Powerpoint presentation about the 1930’s Dust Bowl. Afterwards, write a journal entry from the perspective of a Dust Bowl survivor. Your diary entry can be from a farmer, a farmer’s wife, or the child of a farmer. Use the pictures and information to narrate your diary entry. Your diary entry must answer the following questions: • Where did you live during the Dust Bowl and where do you live now? • What was life like before the Dust Bowl? • What was life like after the Dust Bowl? • How has the Dust Bowl changed life for you and your family? • Your entry must be a minimum of three paragraphs. • Your entry should be written neatly on the provided worksheet and should be free of grammar and spelling errors.
1930's Dust Bowl "Dust Bowl" was a term born in the hard times from the people who lived in the drought-stricken region during the Great Depression. The decade was full of extremes: blizzards, tornadoes, floods, droughts, and dirt storms.
