Awgrymiadau o adroddiadYmddiriedolaethArchaeolegol Gwynedd 1986Recommendations from Gwynedd Archaeological Trust Report 1986 … general (but by no means final ) conclusions about the site A comprehensive record of the site as it stands ought to be merited on the lines of • Consultations with A.H.A Hogg on site • A full photographic record • An updating of the survey of the mid 70’s • Revisions of minor details on Cadw’s aerial survey plan of site • An assessment of visitor numbers in high and low season Parts of the site worthy of protection identified as • The ramparts • The interior (S.W area) • The few remaining unexcavated structures – to be identified by appraising earlier excavation records A scheme to rebuild and stabilise all collapsed walls to be undertaken by one of the following methods • MSC schemes (supervision by Trust?) • Contract work (preferred option) • Cadw direct labour (impossible to finance) Long Term protection of site • Unexcavated huts to be filled with heather growth to prevent metal detector damage • Route into fort via North entrance (not S.W as presently used) • Signboards to explain and direct visitors as appropriate • The establishment of someone to warden the site and rebuild falling masonry as and when necessary (10 hrs per month necessary for this!)
