  11. 3,1 Why was Missouri important to pioneers heading west? Missouri had many trading post, so they could collect items before leaving. Centrally located. Great place for families to meet. Near a water resource.

  13. 3,3 Why was the Missouri Compromise important? Missouri become a slave state, Maine became a free state. No other states north of the imaginary line could be slave states.
