  1. Using a webcam is always a fun; many HP laptops come with a built-in camera. People share photos, do live video chats and much more with webcams. HP provides a utility called Quick Play, software for equipped webcam hardware that allows users to connect with other people over the Internet.

  2. To use a webcam the only requirement is that you have the right software installed in your computer. However, many casual users find this a difficult task. Therefore, we HP Support Australia is here to make your task easier, simply follow our guidelines to use an HP laptop webcam.

  3. Go to the HP official website, in the Support tab, run a search for latest software driver for the webcam. Select the exact model no. of your computer; choose an operating system that is currently installed on your system. Download the camera driver from the available program list. Run it and install that driver. At the end of the installation, reboot your system.

  4. Double-click the Quick Play application to launch it. (Almost all HP laptops come with pre-installed application. If you do not have the program, download the latest version from the official website.) Click the Music ,Videos ,Pictures icon in Quick Play and select the Webcam button to start it. A quick-light next to the cam lens will appear with a current image on your screen.

  5. To enlarge the screen to full size, double-click Active webcam image. Scroll down to the left corner of the window and click on Snapshot to take a selfie/ picture. If you want to record a video, click the Record label and start video recording. To change the aspect ratio of window or recording quality, click the Info button.
