Death of the Articles of Confederation • The AOC prove to be a disaster • The union between the 13 new countries are close to totaling dissolving • There is no law or anyone to act as the “parent” • Americans begin to think we’d be better off going back to the King • NC past the mountains leaves the country and forms “the State of Franklin” & is led by John Sevier, army is sent, all gets calm and the State of Franklin agrees to someday rejoin America under a new name: Tennessee • Franklin calls for a new Constitutional Convention held in Philadelphia to fix the AOC

The Birth Of The US Constitution • The Delegates of the Constitutional Convention (CC) realize that the AOC can’t be fixed. • The decide to rewrite our government in total secrecy. • Fighting and arguing begin, no progress is made, young delegates do not respect Franklin, England wants payback, spies are everywhere • Against his wishes, George Washington agrees to take control of the convention and establishes law and order, once he is there progress is made
