  4. New Head Coach Coach Birns comes to Parkland from the Emmaus High School boys soccer program where he has been the Assistant Varsity coach for the last 2 years.  Off-season, Patrick has trained or coached teams for the Lehigh Valley United Soccer Club, Parkland Area Soccer Club, Western Lehigh United Soccer Club, Lower Macungie Youth Association girls U-14 team, and was an evaluator for selection the Pocono Snow NPSL team.   Prior to Coach Birns’ time in the Lehigh Valley, he spent nine successful years as Head Soccer Coach at Delaware Valley High School and Director/Owner of the Tri-State Soccer Academy.  Patrick also has extensive soccer coaching experience through camps he has been a part of in both the United States and abroad. He is currently a Health and Physical Education Teacher in the East Penn School District. He holds both a Bachelor of Science and Master’s degree in Health and Physical Education from East Stroudsburg University where he also played soccer.  Patrick holds various advanced soccer coaching certificates, a National “B” License, an Advanced National License from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and Goalkeeper Level II from NSCAA.  Coach Birns is also the current Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association Committee Chairperson for both the Ethics and Statistics committees. And is a current member of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Coaches’ Advisory and Soccer Steering committees

  5. Player Dates • Warm-up & Pick-up • Tuesday and Thursday from June 2nd to June 16th • 3-4:15pm • Speed & Strength training • Tuesday and Thursday from June 28th to Aug. 4th • 7-8:30am • Preseason • Aug. 15th-19th • Twice a day - morning 8-10:30am, afternoon 5-7:15pm

  6. Player Responsibility • Come to preseason in shape • Be on time to team events • Maximum Effort is Expected • Compete each day • Communicate with your COACHES

  8. Parent Responsibilities • Encourage your son to enjoy the opportunity to participate on this team • Encourage your son to communicate with the Coaching staff • Encouragement throughout the program is essential • All Parties Involved Meetings

Mission Statement • The PHS Boys’ Soccer Booster Club is a non-political organization that exists to support our teams: financially, through fund raising and concessions, socially, by attending games, and by promoting them throughout the community. The Booster club fosters love of the sport through mutual respect, a sense of fair play, and cooperation between the players, parents, guardians, coaches, and administrative staff at PHS. Dedication and discipline to the sport, self, and other are expected and required by all involved in the program, both on and off the field.

What we do: • Friday evening after the team is selected • Plan and Organize Pre-Season Kickoff Picnic • Introduces players, coaches, and cheerleaders • Opportunity to try on and purchase Spirit Wear • Complete membership application • Sign-up to work Snack Stand • Manage Boys Soccer Website • Design and print programs for home games • Hotdogs after home games - Bagels for away games • Organize and conduct Youth Clinic, Youth Nights, Senior Recognition Night • Additions to uniforms as needed • Supplement stipend for Assistant JV Coach and Goalie Coach • End of the year Banquet for Players, Coaches, Trainers, and Administration Banquet Gifts
