Contingency Plan/ CPWG Burundi Process: • Based on the country contingency plan (4 emergency scenarios/analysis on potential impact on children) and the CCC for children in Humanitarian Action • Specific tools developed by CPWG members to identify objectives, existing capacities, gaps and priorities to improve emergency preparedness
Challenges: Not enough visibility of CP component in the country contingency plan (mainly general protection sector considered) Weak understanding of non CP actors on CP standards and CP relevance as life saving intervention
Strengths: Involvement of government counterparts (Ministry of National Solidarity and Civil Protection) in the planning, development of tools and in the identification of clear roles and responsibilities Through CPiE trainings CPWG members (including government) are more engaged and willing to use common tools and standards
