Note that some journal articles can be Citation Online with no access to the full-text article. Check the Hinari Content page Journals collection A-Z list.
Click on Journal Article Full Text Online to go to the document.
In some cases, the link to the full text article does not work. This could be a R4L or publisher problem. The following slides review options for solving this by opening the Hinari Content page.
Return to the Hinari Content page and try to access the full text article via journal title and issue in the Journals collection A-Z listing.
From the A listing, the link to the journal - Antimicrobial Resistance and Infection Control -is displayed. Click on the link to this journal. This journal also can be accessed via the Publishers drop down menu if the publisher (BioMed Central) is known. Note: If you have used the general Summon search box and not your Country specific search box, your institution may not have access to the specific journal. If this is the case, in the All Items list, the title will have a grey box !.
The journal - Antimicrobial Resistance and Infection Control -is displayed. To access the specific article, type the title in the Search box or scroll down to the access point for specific issues. Search by Keyword or scroll down the list of articles.
Now displayed are 2 result(s) with P261 Study plus the link to the Full Text or PDF.
Another useful Summon searching option is when PubMed’s ‘Link Out’ software does not access the full text articles. (When you click on the Hinari icon in PubMed, you get a message to login with a personal password or pay a fee for access to the article.) Use the Hinari Summon search tool: • In PubMed, check the boxes of the articles you want. Save the articles to a file (use the send to drop down menu). • Open the .txt file. Copy the article title. • Open Summon (bottom of Search inside Hinari fulltext through database… list) • In Summon, enter the title in the Search box and complete search. • Note: if your institution does not have access to the specific publisher, you will not get the full-text of this article in Summon.
Click on the Preview option - to view more information on the specific journal article.
The article’s Preview information is displayed and includes the like to the Full Text Online.
Displayed are the instructions to send a specific citation via Email
Another useful tool is the save the items option. This will highlight the icon in red. These results can be emailed or printed.
The slide shows 3 Saved Items option. Note the Export to, Print, and Email options and also how to Clear all saved items. Click on x – to return to search.
The left column has several refine your search options – Content Type, Publication Date, Discipline and Subject Terms (not shown).
Now displayed is the Content Type plus the More listing. A search can be limited to specific types of information.
Scroll down the Filter options to Publication Date. Click on last 12 months in the Publication Date boxes. Note that you can enter specific dates. Now displayed are 9,613 results sorted by relevance. The relevance sort can be changed to Date (newest) and Date (oldest).
Now Clear Filters and click on Book/eBook Content Type option.The results for this search are 10,518. Note the eBook Full Text Online links.
Displayed is the access to a Wiley-Blackwell Online Books link – as this is similar to the journal article access.
In the Wiley Online Library, click on Publication titles, enter hospital-acquired infection in the SEARCH box and complete the search.
The Title Search Results contain the link to the specific title. Note: If you are unable to access the book from the Summon full-text link, go back to the Hinari content page and open the book from the Books collection A-Z.
If access to the specific book is denied, return to the Hinari Content page and try to access the full text book using the title via the Books collection A-Z listing.
Displayed is the Summon Advanced Search option – (available to the right of the search box). Updated 2018 03
