5. How partners agree to work together to agree SCS and make it happen A Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) is a non-statutory, multi-agency body, which matches local authority boundaries. 6. The LAA sets out the deal between central and local authorities and their partners. In order to improve services and the quality of life in a place over a 3 year period. What is a Local Area Agreement?

9. Cycling To Schools An extra 22000 cycle safety training courses Housing Over 1200 extra affordable homes. Waste Glass Recycling An extra 6500 tons of household waste glass has been recycled. Commercial waste glass recycling will be up by 50%. Volunteering Over 10000 more people volunteering in Surrey. Vulnerable Older People An extra 1500 older people have been helped to live at home. 12. Reduce the amount of waste generated by Surrey householders, which is currently one of the highest per capita ratios. In 2004 the average Surrey household generated 565kg of waste, against a national average of 439kg. The new LAA for SurreyWhat are we trying to do?

15. Reduce high levels of drinking in Surrey to reduce alcohol related deaths and health problems. It is estimated more than 129,000 people in Surrey are currently harmful drinkers while over 27,000 are alcohol-dependent. The new LAA for Surrey What are we trying to do?

17. Address the community-wide impacts of climate change and increasing fuel and energy costs. This impacts on a range of issues which are particularly significant in Surrey, e.g. congestion, landfill, air quality, water use The new LAA for Surrey What are we trying to do?
