  2. Statement of Problem • The Smith family requires a complete nursery in their home including paint, flooring, window treatments furniture, and furniture arrangement. • The nursery is in a blank 10’ by 15’ room. • The budget is $3000. • The room must be baby-proof.

  3. Paint -Wanted to use a paint that looks good, stimulates the mind, and is 100% safe as far as fumes go. (www.lowes.com) -Satin Primer $21.97 (2 gallons) -Matte Latex colored paint $88.92 (2 gallons)

  4. Flooring -Wanted a carpet that is soft to the touch or a hardwood floor that not only looks good, but is easy to clean. -Carpet: Frieze Saphire $600 plus shipping/handling www.stainmaster.com -Wood flooring: Golden kempas solid prefinished hard wood floors $523.50

  5. Windows -Wanted to get a window treatment that would not only shade from the sun when needed, but also let sunlight in when wanted.   6. The “Nursery in a box” Crib The crib has a one hand release with a single drop side and the mattress support can be in two different positions. This crib is multifunctional and can be changed into a traditional bed when the child outgrows the crib or into a daybed for use as a sofa.

  7. The “Nursery in a box” Changing Table The changing table includes two shelves for storing baby items and the drawer organizer has metal slides for easy accessibility.

  10. Safety Strangulation hazards All window pulls are trimmed out of a baby’s reach. The crib and changing table have no strings or ties, and the changing table strap is too short to be a hazard.

  11. Safety Electrical hazards All electrical outlets are plugged with plastic safety caps.

  12. Safety Injury hazards • All of our furniture is made with smooth surfaces and rounded edges to prevent scrapes and bumps when baby starts to crawl and explore. • The furniture has been certified by JPMA (Juvenile Product Manufactures Association).

  13. Conclusion CMH Design has been in the business for over 18 hours, and has furnished many homes and nurseries, and is qualified to furnish the Smith’s nursery.
