  3. Universal design is design for all people

  4. Universal design is the design of products & environments to be usable by all people, to the greatest extent possible, without the need for adaptation or specialized design.

  5. Four General Ideas of Universal Design • Supportive • Adaptable • Accessible • Safe

  6. Universal Design is Supportive It makes the environment work for the individual, stressing ease of use & maintenance.

  9. Universal Design Is Adaptable It serves a wide range of users whose needs change over time.
