  3. Slide Shows • Slide shows are a quick and easy way to display a collection of pictures to your audience. What else can I do with slide shows?..... • Add Music.. • Rearrange photos anytime.. • Use descriptions as captions.. • Save images from show to computer..

  4. …I can add music? • Yes you can...add an mp3 and your slide show is more like a video than just some passing images.

  5. …move things around? • If your mp3 is uploaded later or you want the pictures to display in a different order it is easy to make this happen.

  6. …use descriptions as captions? • Using descriptions is a great way to say something about an image without the need for audio.

  7. …and save images from the show to my computer? • Yes..Yes..Yes..Viewers of your slide show can save images from the show to their computer.

  8. MP3 Playlist • A great way to appeal to your visitors is through audio and podcasting. What else can I do with an MP3 playlist?..... • How about create a podcast… • Update your podcast on a regular basis to keep the listeners interest.

  9. How do I create a podcast? • The first step to creating your podcast is to build the organizational structure. Get your folder in place and name it appropriately..Then create your MP3 Playlist…name that too. This is when you select the “podcast” option. 1 2

  10. How do I create a podcast? • Now it is time to upload your file into the mp3 playlist. You will be able to provide a title for this file and a description. That’s it….the subscriber will now be able to click the RSS link on the player and set up their podcast. IMPORTANT NOTE: • Make sure when you are adding to your podcast that you are adding an object to the playlist and not creating new folders or channels. This will ensure the listeners application will pick up the new podcast immediately.

  11. Subscribing with iTunes? • It’s now very easy for visitors to subscribe to your podcast. • A common method for this would be through iTunes. • Anyone can use iTunes…Mac or PC.

  12. What should you podcast? • So what should you podcast? • Commentary from athletic events, recaps, scores… • Daily or weekly review of things going on at the school. • Daily affirmations. • Audio recordings of lectures or classes taught. • What are you podcasting?

  15. Sharing Media? • Sharing is a great way to save disk space? • Allows others with access to Media to link to your files. • No more multiple uploads of the same file. NOTE: If original media is deleted it will cause a break in the link for all others currently linking to it.

  16. Moving Media? • Your media library is building and now you wish your organizational structure were a little different? • Move media elements to different folders. • Move folders to a different media channel. You don’t have to start over. No re-uploading required.

  17. Good places to use Media. • In today’s world it’s all about Media. The more you can find a use for it the more likely people will get your message. Maybe it’s a slide show or a podcast…here are some ideas and places you might be able to incorporate more media into your site: • A Day in the Life of a Student • Admissions • Athletics with games on team pages or in recaps • Portal pages can have media elements in the main content area of a page. • Campus Tour • Recorded Assemblies • Recorded Graduations for Alumni class page.
