  1. CAT – Context Aware Toolkit • A framework for building context-aware applications on mobile devices, such as the iPAQ. • Features: • Provides access to all local sensor data. • Create SIGs (Special Interest Groups) for sharing sensor data with only the people you want to. • Keeps a history of all sensor data. • Predict future sensor data. • Facilitates P2P communication.

  2. CAT – Context Aware Toolkit • CAT makes building context-aware applications as easy as extending an abstract class. • Several applications have been built using CAT, including ActiveCampus and Navigator. • Testing CAT and other mobile applications can be very difficult due to limited time and resources.

  3. iSIM – iPAQ SIMulator • iSIM can simulate sensor context and wireless networking for multiple agents. • Each agent in the iSIM environment corresponds to some mobile application like CAT. • CAT can then receive context from iSIM, just like it would from a real mobile device.

  4. iSIM – iPAQ SIMulator • iSIM Scenario: • Add a couple of agents to iSIM. • Add an access point. • Move the agents and access point. • Show the wireless ranges. • ActiveCampus Scenario: • View agents and make a friend. • View the friend’s location on the map. • Talk with the friend.

  5. iSIM and CAT • More information about iSIM and CAT is available at: • http://www.cs.uoregon.edu/~jprideau/
