Cut each in half.

3. Math Message and Math Journal 2, page 168 Look at the drinking glasses on journal page 168. Which glass is half full? Just because something is divided into two parts does not necessarily mean that each part is one-half of the whole.

A 25-cent coin is called a quarter because it is one-fourth of a dollar. On page 165, label the crackers with 1/2 and 1/4. Circle the rectangles on Journal page 168 that are divided into thirds.

7. One-Dollar Exchange Game Materials: 1 dollar, 20 dimes, and 20 pennies 1 Place-Value Mat per player 2 six-sided dice 1 sheet of paper labeled "Bank" Players 2 Directions (also on pages 144 and 145 of My Reference Book) 1. Place all of the money in the Bank. 2. Players take turns.

9. Writing and Reasoning: How do you know how many hundreds are in a number? Write, draw, or verbalize and answer.

10. Folding Paper Pizzas Fold your circle, square, triangle, and semi-circle into two equal parts. What was your strategy for making halves? Are all the pizza halves the same size?
