  1. OkapiBy: Brinn Wright #7 The okapi Conservation project is located within the Ituri forest, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the most biologically diverce country in Africa.

  2. Habitat The okapi is a animal of the Congo region of Central Africa, living in deep forests and jungles, mainly near abundant water sources.

  3. Diet A okapi’s diet is leaves, grass, bushes, weeds, and hay.

  4. Endangered Because Found only in the tropical forests of the Democratic Republic of Congo, okapi’s are similar in size and shape to a horse but walk more like giraffes by moving front and hind legs of the same side simultaneously.

  5. Interesting Facts After nearly 50 years, the okapi has been rediscovered in Virunga national park in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo world wildlife fund announced today.
