Conclusions Last year was not very successful for DVD market, sales have dropped for 17,1% in units and 15,6% in value. Developing segment Blue ray players showed expected growth for 90% due to decrease of average price for these devices. Brands competition has demonstrated decrease of LG’s market share in segment Table DVD for 1,8%. This happened due to low distribution factor comparing with BBK and high average price of LG. In developing segment Blue Ray the situation is much more positive for LG. This is the brand number one in Blue ray players. Thanks to high distribution factor and medium price LG has reached 29,9% in this segment. According to the segmentation by channels LG has weakness in Independent channel (ES/VS/PP). Low distribution is the reason of such dynamics. Internet sales in DVD have dropped as well as total market but in percentage their share stays stable (6,2% in 2011). LG is quite successful in this segment, it’s share has grown for 1,8% in 2011.
