What Is “Exit Slips”? • It is a method to know what the students have learned from the class today. • The slips are not going to be scored, so the students will not feel pressure about them. • It is also a way to help the students review what they have learn today. • The teachers use the “slips” as a “ticket” to “allow the students to exit” from the classroom. • It also can be an evaluation.
What Is “Exit Slips” For? • Using writing as a thinking process to let the students review what they have learn from the class today. • Give the students another chance to communicate with their teacher. • Teachers can revise the teaching methods from students’ opinions.
Example Questions of Exit Slips • What is the most impressive sentence you learn from this lesson? (ESL) • What is the moral told in the story you learn today? (ESL) • What the rule of square measure of a triangle? (Basic math) • In what age Mozart composed his first opera? (Music history) • What are the three basic materials for creatures? (Basic biology)
Example Questions of Exit Slips • Was there any problem during the experiment? (Science experiment) • Can you ask for the directions if you get lost on the way to your friend’s house? How will you ask?(Dialogue) • Which activity do you like the best during the class? • Can you make three sentences with three words from the vocabulary today? • Do you like the memory game we played today? Why or why not?
