  1. Experiment design of washing process 于航,姜伟,张博 田益凡,郑奇威

  2. Agenda • Motivation and object of the experiment • Selection of factors • Definition of response variable • Design of experiment • Analysis of experiment • Conclusion • Shortcomings and future extension

  3. Motivation And Object • Study the washing process and try to find the satisfied optimal settings of parameters to make the washing process efficient and effective

  4. Selection Of Factors • Held constant factors • Category and amount of blots (black ink) • Category and amount of washing powders (DiaoPai) • Category of wash (cotton) • Dimension of wash (20×20mm) • Method of washing (marinating) • Design factors • Quantity of water • Time • Initial temperature

  5. Range And Levels Of Design Factors

  6. Definition Of Response Variable

  7. Design Of Experiment • Choice of design • Response surface methodology • central composite design • Number of replicates • Only one replicate is performed

  8. Design Of Experiment(cont’d)

  9. Experiment Implementation

  10. Experiment Analysis

  11. Experiment Analysis

  14. Experiment Analysis(cont’d)

  15. Experiment Analysis(cont’d)

  16. Experiment Analysis(cont’d) R^0.5=(1.86+0.47A-0.20B+0.36C)

  17. Experiment Analysis(cont’d)

  18. Conclusion • In order to maximize the response variable, we need to: • Maximize A • Minimize B • Maximize C • However, the values of A, B and C should be within the feasible region, that is we also have to take other constrains into our consideration: • High temperature can do damage to the clothes • Marinate too long may result in bad smell • Economy reasons

  19. Shortcomings and future extension • Shortcomings • Without considering economical factors • Single blot • Simple evaluation system • Fixed ranges of parameters • Future extension • Extend range of blots • Perfect the evaluation system • Extend the experiment parameter range
