Fitness Competition! • Still in the planning phase……. • Looking for “players” and “coaches” • Please let Jen, Kristina or Megan know if you are interested in participating in the weight loss challenge. • OR if you can help coach a team of your colleagues to victory! • Better ideas? Talk to Strauss, Moelbert or Giallella to help with the planning

  3. Response To Intervention • Kaci and Debbie are the RTI Team leaders • (See RTI presentation saved in teachershare) • AIMSWEB round two is happening now. • This fulfills the universal screening requirement.   4. Inspiring Minds Mentors • 10 teachers, 2 admin. and 12 students in grades 6 & 7 • In future trainings we will include any employee who wants to participate. • Mentors will contact teachers to let them know which students are in the program. • Students were identified based on quarter 1 grades (failing 2 or more subjects). We don’t have enough mentors to include all students right now. • Names of at-risk students will be shared at each grade level meeting on Thursday, Jan. 19

  5. Attendance Committee News • The committee met and decided to implement detention for students arriving late without a note. • The goal of the attendance committee is to improve student attendance. • Period by period attendance is required and must be accurate. Please see Carolyn DellaNeve if you need help/review. • Please contact John Crangle if you have interest in joining this committee.

  6. Projector Bulbs • Please, Please, Please turn off projectors when not in use. • This will preserve some bulb life and save money. • There are no extra bulbs in district at this time. • If a bulb burns out, we will have to order a new one. This will take time and money (that we don’t have).

  7. Reorganize • Whole group grade level meeting on Thursday, January 19 in the cafeteria to review and reorganize for Data Review and Goal-Setting at Department Meetings • Grade Level Meetings will return to meetingsevery other month. • Additional Thursdays will be discussed at Core Team.

  8. January Meetings • Thursday, Jan. 12: Special Education IEP meeting with Jackie Martin • Thursday, Jan. 12: ELA meeting with Jen to plan for the fluency portion of AIMSWEB • Thursday, Jan. 19: All grade levels will meet in the cafeteria • Thursday, Jan. 26: Staff development: Students from HHS will talk about the GSA and share their experiences from middle school. Diversity training will be included in this staff development.
