Legislation • Regulation № 6 from 19th August 2002 for teaching of children with special educational needs and/or chronic diseases • In the public documents is talked about children with special educational needs as a term ”umbrella” • “dyslexia, dyscalculia, disgrafiya “ are involved in this group

  4. In Bulgaria is accepted a classification of the status Dyslexia according to ICD-10 • F81.0- specific reading disorder-dyslexia • F81.1- specific disorder of spelling-disgrafiya • F81.2-specific disorder of arithmetic skills-dyscalculia • F81.3- mixed disorder of the school skills

  5. Resource support in Bulgaria of the children with special educational needs • Structure for Bulgaria • 28 Districts • 29Resource centres • Resource centres assist the schools in the appropriate area and have consultative, educational, rehabilitating and coordinating function.

  6. Resource support • Resource centres assist the school in the relevant area • In the schools with over 500 students there are regular speech therapist and psychologist, if necessary- a resourced teacher and a special educator

  9. Resource teacher • Special educator who assists children and pupils with special educational needs in their inclusion in mainstream educational environment. He/She/ works with the child in the classroom and organizes individual or group work in the resource room. The resource teacher adapts the curriculum as necessary, performs input, intermediate and output diagnosis of the acquired knowledge on implement of the individual educational programand for covering the state educational requirements for learning contents.
