  2. Goal For your little flower to become an independent grower. Blooming socially, emotionally, and intellectually.

Make the 1st Day Count • When talking to your child about school keep a positive attitude, children sense anxiety from a parent • Tell your child ahead of time when you will leave and when you will return to pick them up • Bring your child in between 7:45-8:00 a.m., no earlier or no later • Always bring your child in by the hand, so they feel more independent • Get them situated in class • Say a quick good bye • If you have real concerns write a quick note and phone number on my desk and I will call and update you on your child at my conference

  5. Baby Picture • Please send baby picture the 1st day of school • Write the child’s name on the back • We will be doing a class activity with them • The activity will be displayed • The picture will be returned

  6. Supplies • Backpack (not rollers or too small) • Towel or small blanket (will be sent home to wash every Friday/send back on Monday) • Small pillow optional

  7. Labels • Please Label all items that come to school *coat *backpacks *lunchboxes *show and tell *etc.

  8. School Hours/Transportation • Pre-k &Kinder car rider line at west entrance -siblings of these students will go to this line as well • Bus pick up and drop off is at the front of the school in the circle drive way • Use car rider lines for drop off in the mornings • Buses will line up at 2:55 in front of the school • Only a written note or phone call will be accepted to go a different direction • Children coming in late will have to check in at the office before coming to class • Children leaving early will have to be check out at the office before leaving class

  9. Cafeteria/Fees • All money needs to be sent in an envelope and labeled (Menus will be sent home) 7:20-7:50 a.m./breakfast $1.40 11:00-11:30 a.m./lunch $2.25 12:30-12:45 p.m./snack .55

  10. Snack Time • Please send 2 snacks each month *Crackers, muffins, peanut butter crackers, graham crackers, fig newtons, dry cereal, pretzels, vanilla wafers, fruit, fruit snacks, yogurt, granola bars, fruit bars

  11. Sick Policy • Fever free for 24 hours before returning to school • The school nurse gives out all medications • All medications need to have instructions with times and amounts to be taken • Please notify teacher or nurse If you see signs of lice at home or in your child’s hair

  12. Parties • Birthdays • Halloween • Christmas • Valentine’s Day • Easter Please fill out the party note and send back the 1st day of school.

  13. Pre-K News • News letter in discipline folder every Friday *Check folder for negative balances on lunch account • Mrs. Davis’ Web site

  14. Show and Tell • Bring one item to share with the class on Friday *for example: a leaf during our fall unit, or one of their favorite toys

  15. Behavior Modification • Thinking Chair • Color Chart-green great job/yellow-warning/blue-privileges withdrawn/red-privileges withdrawn and note to parent/unhappy face Principals office or other resolution • Discipline Folder-comes home every Friday/sign Friday square & return on Monday • Green note 1st couple of weeks of school • Rewards *Daily-gumball *Monthly-treasure chest

  16. Checklist • Pre-test during the 1st couple of weeks of school to see where each child is and where they need to be • Checklist will come home every 6 weeks-please sign and return the very next day • A Parent/teacher conference will be held in late Oct./early Nov.

  17. Reading Train • Read to your child 15 minutes for 15 days • Initial the days you have read to your child, after 15 days return to the teacher 7 months-gold medal 6 months-silver medal 5 months-bronze medal

  18. Library/Computer • The children will go to library and computerevery other week *Pre-K children may check out 1 book at a time *The library books stay in the classroom and the children look at them during R.O.A.R. time

  20. Pre-K T-Shirts • We ask that every child buy a Pre-K lion cub T-shirt for $6.00 to be worn on field trips and special occasions. Due Friday Sept. 7th

  21. Dress Code • Elementary policy states that flip flops and spaghetti straps are notto be worn at school
