Lk. 15:11-32 Lk. 15:17 “And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!” The Prodigal Son
I. God has never been stingy with His blessings: (“Bread enough and to spare”) 1. He fed Israel manna in abundance2. The widow who shared a meal with Elijah was richly blessed “Bread enough and to spare”
3. Jesus fed 5000 (plus women and children) – 12 baskets left 4. Jesus fed 4000 – 7 baskets left “Bread enough and to spare”
When we think of man and the many sins he is guilty of, we can hardly understand how a single sinner can be saved Man
When we think of God and see the greatness of His love, we have a hard time understanding how anyone could turn from God and be lost God
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Rom. 8:32
For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. Ps. 84:11
Have your sins been too shocking and to frequent? Is your case a difficult one when it comes to your sins? How about you?
God made you (Gen. 1:28) and he can remake you 2 Cor. 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” How about you?
He can cleanse you He has the power to save Is. 59:1 “Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save” How about you?
If you have never obeyed the gospel, God can save you if you will repent and obey His commandments If you are a Christian God will forgive you if you repent and confess your sins How about you?
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. Is. 55:7
