This is the right of every child, irrespective of their gender, ethnicity, social class or income, or whether they live in conflict zones or fragile states.

Education Global Initiative • Each of the SC’s areas of focus has a global initiative – for collaboration and synergy • The Education Global Initiative is a framework which enables members, regions and countries (and our partners) to come together to discuss and decide on what we want to achieve with our education programmes as well as how we are going to do it.

  9. Theory of Change – what we aim at:

  10. Links to the Forum theme • Education is a key right for children • Barriers to free, mandatory and adapted quality education persist – mainlylearning inequality • This right relates to other rights in a complex manner – survival, protection & participation • State parties need to ratify, report and implement the ACRWC and related education frameworks • Role of CSOs in working with state parties • The way we treat children reflects on us • Africa post-2015 - learning and equity

  11. Our direction to 2030 Goal: By 2030 we will ensure children everywhere receive quality education and have good learning outcomes Targets • Ensure that girls and boys everywhere are achieving good learning outcomes by the age of 12 with gaps between the poorest and the richest significantly reduced. • Ensure that the poorest young children will be starting school ready to learn, with good levels of child development. • Ensure that young people everywhere have basic literacy and numeracy, technical and life skills to become active citizens with decent employment.

  12. Let’s be ambitious with children thro’ education!
