Studies at Heidelberg: Generating and testing few TRD signal and background events With the aim 1. To test the simulation and reconstruction 2. To develop the analysis programs for quarkonia and open charms and bottoms and their invariant mass spectra. Aliroot has seen many versions in last few months: V4-02-Rev-02 V4-02-04 V4-02-05 V4-02-06 ( Released Last week) All with Root v3-10-02 and Geant3 v0-6

Summary: 1. Simulation and reconstruction of both central and peri. Events with Aliroot v4-02-06 looks smooth now. 2. With earlier versions, TPC signal was zero for many reconstructed electrons. In v4-02-06 this bug is not there. 3. Parameterized distributions have been used for open charm and Bottom productions. Studies with correlated charms and bottom not possible. 4. There is no straight method for getting vertex associated with each ESD tracks. 5. Particle identification for TRD is to be implemented.
