  4. CU (Control Unit) • All the computer’s resources are managed from the control unit. The function of control unit is to coordinate with all the computer activities. The control unit contains the CPU’s instructions for carrying out commands

  5. ALU (arithmetic / logic unit) • When the control unit encounters an instruction that involves arithmetic or logic operation, it passes control to the second component of the CPU, the arithmetic/logic unit (ALU).
