L’ACCADEMIA DELLE BELLE ARTI DI CARRARATHE ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS IN CARRARA Il 26 Settembre 1769 fu inaugurata l’Accademia delle Belle Arti di Carrara per volere di Maria Teresa Cybo Malaspina, principessa di Massa e Carrara.   2. La sede dell’Accademia di Belle Arti riunisce la rocca medievale e il palazzo rinascimentale. The Academy of Fine Arts situated in the medieval castle and in the reinassance palace

  3. INSEGNARE L’ARTE L’Accademia nasce per formare artisti esperti nella lavorazione del marmo. A questo scopo, l’11 Gennaio 1781 fu istituito il pedaggio sui marmi, per raccogliere il denaro necessario al funzionamento della scuola. Skillfull artists study at the Academy.   4. LA COLLEZIONE DEI GESSI MODELS IN PLASTER Per offrire ai futuri artisti modelli da imitare, l’Accademia raccolse una ricca collezione di calchi in gesso di famose sculture di tutte le epoche. La gipsoteca carrarese fu una delle più vaste e compiute collezioni del Paese. The Academy owened a rich collection of models in plaster of famous sculptures. The students could copy.

  5. La raccolta comprende tra le sculture antiche la Nike di Samotracia , la Venere di Milo; tra quelle moderne, la Maddalena di Canova, la Psiche Svenuta di Tenerani, la Bagnante del Bartolini. The collection consist of famous sculptures such as Nike of Samotracia and Venus of Milo.
