  3. Why QR Codes? • Quick and Convenient access to information • Universal Tool • Can hold a lot of information relative to its size • 4000 Characters • Web sites most popular use • Examples… • Shopping • Airplane Travel • Zoo

  4. Creating and Using QR codes • Download a barcode scanner • iPhone App = NeoReader • Android App = Zxing Barcode Scanner • Create the QR Code • QR code Generator = Kaywa or www.qrstuff.com (among many others)

  5. Education Use #1: Homework • QR codes can be used to give homework/answers • Place homework or answers on personal Wiki or Blog • Link QR code to the Wiki or Blog • Link to discussion board for questions • Saves on Paper and Time

  6. Education Use #2: Lectures • QR code can be added to lecture slides for many reasons • Time intensive video clips • Useful/Relevant tangential information • Contact Information

  7. Education Use #3: Reading Aid • Print QR code on a Sticker • Place sticker in textbook or other reading material • Example… • Teaching Dante’s Devine Comedy – Link to famous artwork • Teaching Nervous System – Link to an animation of nerve synapse

  8. Education Use #4: Easter Egg Hunt • Place QR codes around room or school • Each code has a clue • When the clue is solved it leads you to another code • This idea can also be used within a book/textbook as well
