What is INSPIRE? INSPIRE … • lays down general rules to establish common infrastructures for spatial information in all member states of the EU • lists 34 spatial data themes ranging from ‘Cadastre parcel’ to ‘Habitats and Biotops’ • INSPIRE does not require collection of new spatial data • Is legally binding for public authorities which are producing or managing data* listed in the 34 annex themes to make their data accessible in a harmonized way as • Metadata • View Service • Download Service • INSPIRE allows the possibility to limit the accessibility to certain users or to apply fees * Depends on national transposition
