  2. Presentation of KAPION • The company was established in 2002 • Due to business expansion, the company Research and Development was relocated to Plese industrial area in Murska Sobota, a total of 5 persons employes, 3 on a regular • basis.

  3. Activities • The following projects were successfully concluded in a short period of time: • project INTERPORT (EU confinanced project, an innovative web portal design was crafted by KAPION) • project TEMPUS-NUSIC – subcontractor works

EU projects • KAPION participated/or still participates in the following projects (a HOTCAST project is in the proposal phase): • ITEA-AGILE – Agile software development (ITEA programme) – partners Nokia, VTT, ESI (Spain) • IST-EASY – Agile software development (IST, 6. FP) – partners VTT, Nokia • aLEARN – eLearning software for secondary schools (PHARE regional program) • PRODHNET – Local digital content distribution – 4G communications (CELTIC call) – partners AMENA, SOLUZIONA

Competences of KAPION • Main areas of work for KAPION include: • Application development based on JAVA 2 platform, including JAVA 2 ME/SE/EE (Micro Edition, Standard Edition, Enterprise Edition), • OSS oriented research and development in the field of communications, by developing innovative multimedia platform, which includes VoIP traffic and video conferences (H.261, H.263, H.264). • Methodologies and framework development for implementing new communication services by using OO (object-oriented) and other IT-based technologies, • Architectural design of advanced IPV4 and IPV6 oriented universal networks with advanced mobile services in question.

Goals of KAPION • KAPION develops a multimedia server which offers man services, including: • VoIP services for business and metro users • video conferencing software (H.261, H.263, H.264) • Java enriched applications for various platforms (desktop, handhelds, mobile phones) • eLearning services including workgroup services, wikipedia services • KAPION is interested in participating the ITEA2 - MOVE PO to gather a broader knowledge of a 2D-3D user experience, peferrably on the server side, but also on the middleware level or on the handheld device.

  8. Agile Information Systems development KAPION cooperates in ITEA – AGILE project with the greatest European AGILE software development masterminds – incorporating the gained knowledge into day to day operations
