  2. Carbon Monoxide Detectors&Smoke Detectors • Purchase carbon monoxide (CO) and smoke detectors when you first move into a house. CO when using natural Gas , propane, wood, or coal. (You don’t know how old the ones in the house are.) • Place detectors highon the ceiling or on the wall near bedrooms. • One CO detector for each level. • Multiple Smoke detectors. One for each hallway and each bedroom.

  3. Carbon Monoxide Detectors • Check & Replace batteries twice a year( Daylight savings time). • Test periodically. (Once a week during winter months & once a month summer months ) • Replace CO detector • Battery operated only - every five years. • Electric only- every two years. • Some will last seven years. • Check the manufactures recommendations if your not sure.

  4. Smoke Detectors • Check and Replace batteries( Daylight savings time). • Replace smoke detectors every ten years or sooneras recommended by The National Fire Protection Association • Test twice a year, periodic maintenance such as dust and insect removal.
