Regitelorganization • Organization • Local IT community in the South of The Netherlands (Limburg), founded in 1997 by Liof, a local investment bank • Goal • Being a platform/catalist stimulating the cooperation and sharing of ideas of growth between IT companies, IT user organizations and the IT knowledge sector • Members (50) • IT companies, IT educationalinstitutes in the South of the Netherlands
Region of Limburg, Germany and Belgium, called “Euregio Maas-Rijn”.
Activities • Organizing meetings 4-6 times in a year in brainstorm sessions, lectures, seminars or excursions • Stimulating, doing projects together, facilitating workgroups • Building a bridge between companies and the IT knowledge sector, stimulating collaboration • Enabling contacts with other organizations abroad (Belgium and Germany, EU) • Supporting the commercial interest of individual members or a group of members • Promoting the ICT industry in and outside the region.

Objectivesstudy trip • To learn and understand how Krakow has become an important player in IT in the past 5-10 years. Discuss with stakeholders how this is done and what this means for our situation. • To get a better picture of key IT developments, innovations and trends taking place in the IT ecosystem in Krakow, Poland. • To know the critical success factors, pitfalls in the cooperation model, the formula behind the Polish success. • To learn from companies and universities how to stimulate young people to get educated in IT. What specific pre- conditions are needed to make it happen? • To find out the possibilities of closer cooperation between Polish and Dutch companies , our members, to stimulate the growth of IT in our region (e.g. can our region be a hub for Polish companies to grow in the western European region). • To be inspired by the successful developments, innovation in the Krakow area
