  7. There are two basic types of technical descriptions…. Product Description Process Description Describes a particular device or mechanism Describes the steps or stages in an event • Cell phone • GPS receiver • How cell calls are sent and received • How a location is determined using GPS

  8. Product Description…. • Introduction • Define the mechanism, tell its function • Provide a brief overall description • Describe the operation principle • List the main parts • Provide a graphic with callouts
