  10. Athletic Disclaimer Any student attending an academy outside of the attendance zone in which he/she resides, will be ineligible for varsity athletic competition for one calendar year.

Applicant Requirements • Success on all sections of the 7th grade STAAR • Currently resides in FBISD Attendance zone • Currently in the 8th Grade Academy Selection Criteria • 7th grade semester grades in Math, Science, SS, ELA • 8th grade semester grades in Math, Science, SS, ELA • Academy entrance exam grade or Interview score

Academy Entrance Exam • 1 test for three academies: • Engineering Academy • Math and Science Academy • Medical Science Academy • January 5, 2017 at Elkins High Schoolfrom 6:30 – 8:00 PM • Check-In at 6:00 PM • Student Email – Application • Email Reminder • Test Topics: • 8th Grade Math • Algebra I

Academy Interview • 1 interview for three academies: • Digital Media Academy • Global Studies Academy • International Business & Marketing Academy • January 4, 2017 at Elkins High Schoolfrom 6:30 – 8:00 PM • Applicants will be contacted via email with Interview Time • Student Email – Application • Email Reminder • Interview: • Panel of 3 FBISD staff members • 5-7 minutes long • First question will be sent via email

  17. Final Acceptance • Is contingent upon: • Successful completion of all 8th grade courses during the academic school year • Successful completion of all parts of the 8th Grade STAAR exam
