  2. RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES Since conditions on the Caribbean are often beautiful. Curacao has a variety of activities, both on the water and on the beautiful island. The water activities that have a regular thing for both tourist and natives include, diving, snorkeling, jet ski tours, and boat tours. Water activities are not the only things you can do to truly enjoy your trip. There are so many great things to do on the island as well. In Christoffel National Park you can hike through the islands beautiful west end. A two to three hour hike can get you to the highest point on the island where you are 1,240 feet above sea level and can even see Argentina! CasAbou Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island and it is a place where many must visit during their stay.

  3. Historic Sites Although Willemstad was consider a typical port town, the countries capital is also the place that holds the most history. It was once a port where the neighboring Spanish, English, and French colonies came to trade, thus leaving such a diversity in its culture.  its origin to the expansion of Europe in the 15th and 16th centuries. After Spain had encroached upon the island in 1499 at the expense of its indigenous inhabitants, the Arawak Indians, the Dutch took possession of it in 1634. The Historic Area of Willemstad is a European colonial ensemble in the Caribbean of outstanding value and integrity, which illustrates the organic growth of a multicultural community over three centuries and preserves to a high degree significant elements of the many strands that came together to create it. Curaçao’s culture embraces many languages. Although Dutch is the Curacao official language, and English and Spanish are also widely spoken, many residents speak Papiamentu — a Creole mixture of Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, French, English, and Arawak Indian.
