Objective • Nationally driven research program to answer6Key Questions • Multiple locations for each research question to provide understanding across broad areas. • Concise research summaries (10 mins each) are presented by the lead academic protocol leader at the Research Exchange Meeting. • Additional research topics shared via 5 minute lightning talks • All information generated from the national program can be shared by all and leveraged back toward the education of growers and consultants in the management of SCA.
Introductions • More than 60 participants, incl. participants from: • Researchers from California to Georgia • Several graduate students • United Sorghum Checkoff Program • Bayer and Dow AgroSciences • No formal introduction round; 1.5 days of exchange to get to know each other
Guidelines • All participants • Time for the REM is limited and the agenda is very tight. Items will be tabled as needed for later follow up. • Focus on clarifying questions during presentations. Save general questions, challenges, discussion for the end of each presentation. • Please focus questions and discussion on the specific topic presented. • Please do not multi-task during the project reviews.If presenters stay on schedule, there will be breaks to check email, voicemail, etc.
Guidelines • Presenters • Stay within time allotments. • Highlight key observations and/ or unexpected results. It may not always be necessary to review routine trial methodology in detail. (NB: All documentation will be shared) • Be flexible in how much time you spend presenting slides in order to accommodate questions/discussion. • Do your best to stay within your allotted time. • Program chairs will do their best to manage questions and discussion so that you have enough time to present. • You have 10 minutes to present your Key Question summaries. I will stand up when you have two minutes of time remaining. • Fiveminute lightning presentations will be notified with one minute remaining.
