Conditions for the use of FM • The customer has to pay advance money for • the amount of postage required by him. • He franks postal articles in lieu of postage • stamps. • Every franked article should bear Value Die, • Licence Die and optional Slogan Die (for • advertising his product.) • The machine have two meters-Ascending and • descending (credit). Remotely Managed Franking System • Funds are secured through special device known as Postal Security Device (PSD) which is not open to repair. – It replaces mechanical seals on FM • The amount for uploading the credit in FM may be deposited in any branch of SBI through net banking or any PO having e-payment facility. Remotely Managed Franking System • Facility for suspension/cancellation of licence will be available in FM • Migration plan for phasing out the electronic FM • FM which are used for more than 5 years will not be renewed • FM which are less than 5 years will be allowed to continue till completion of a period of 5 years or up to 30 6 2013 whichever is earlier.
