  9. There are open air markets everywhere in the Philippines. It is a principal source of income, for the tourists, a chance for a real bargain and for the rest a social event.

  10. Newly harvested bamboo poles nearly cover the banca and outriggers. They will be taken downstream to the Sunday Crafts market into a furniture factory. The shoots are culinary delicacy, while the mature stems are used as building materials - from homes to furnishings like the baby bassinet for Angelina Jolie’s baby or the living room set for Sophia Loren.
