Uniforms • Shin pads were made out of leather in 1874. • The shin pads were attached with Buckles. • They wore button tunics. • Women wore hats to keep Their hair out of the mud. • Now people wear shin pads made of light weight materials, shaped to fit the leg . They wear t-shirts, lycra shorts to keep their muscles warm, and gloves. Pg.2
Rules • There should be 11 players per side. • Teams may substitute up to 3 to 5 players. • The game should last 90 minutes with two halves of 45 minutes each. • The goal keeper has to stay in the box. When they have the ball in hands they only have 4 seconds to punt the ball. Pg.3
World Cup • The Soccer World Cup is one of the greatest sports events of our time. • The first World cup was held in Uruguay in 1930. • The World Cup is the largest soccer tournament in the world. • It is held ever 4 years. Pg.4
