The North calls for wars • Lincoln calls for 75,000 volunteers troops to protect the Union • The Civil war has begun

The effects of the war • The long 4 years civil war was deep and long lasting effects. About 620,000 Americans had lost their lives. The Civil war had ended slavery in the south. Most former slaves were left with no homes and jobs.
