  1. Honeycomb Blinds - A Real Energy Saver

  2. Nowadays a lot of people want their houses to be insulated as much as possible. This has one big reason and that is money, when you save energy in your insulated home you do not have to spent a lot of money into the energy bill. There are several measurements you can take to insulate your home, one of these is changing your window treatments. Window treatments you say? Yes, having energy efficient window treatments will help your home insulate. Honeycomb blinds are window treatments that are energy efficient and beautiful too!

  3. How come honeycomb blinds are energy efficient? There are two features of the honeycomb that answer this question: thickness and design. Let me explain thickness, like any other blind the honeycomb blind can filter incoming light. These blinds can do this because you can set the filter yourself. They are available in single, double or triple honeycombs and the level of thickness increases with the one you choose. If you have windows that are ten years old it is preferable to go with triple honeycomb cell blinds. These blinds insulate your room three times better than a single honeycomb would. One side note is that how more cells you take how heavier the blind is going to be. So if you have a very large window the best solution is to go with the one or two cell honeycomb.

  4. The second feature is design. Next to a stunning look the design of the honeycomb is very functional. Air is trapped in the cells of the honeycomb and this increases the insulation. Again a triple cell honeycomb will insulate better because there are two cells more for air to get trapped in than a single cell honeycomb blind.

  5. The aesthetic function. Interior designers do not love the honeycomb for their energy efficiency but for it's aesthetic look and function. You can control lighting in a room with these blinds, so if you want a light room you take a one cell honeycomb. If you want a more romantic ambiance you choose the three cell honeycomb. Honeycomb blinds are available in all colors so interior designers find it easy to match these window treatments with the colors of the room.

  6. Next to a lot of colors there are many different models available on nowadays market. There are vertical, cordless, cellular, blackout, triple, double and single one cell honeycomb blinds. Honeycomb blinds are also often used in an arch of a house. They offer insulation, darkness and design. Honeycomb blinds are available in local stores in your neighborhood and online. If you are going to look online you probably will get the better deals.
